This two-piece washstand set, comprising a large water pitcher (ewer) and a matching basin bowl, was historically a functional item for personal hygiene before widespread indoor plumbing. It is made of semi-porcelain or ironstone ceramic. Produced by Alfred Meakin, England
It is richly decorated with hand-painted or transferware floral motifs in soft greens, yellows, and muted reds, complemented by elaborate gold gilt scrollwork and trimming on the scalloped edges of both the pitcher and the basin.
The pitcher is 12 x 11, and the basin is 16" wide by approximately 4.5" high
This is in great condition.
I could not find any crazing, chips, or cracks
This is approximately from the late 19th or early 20th century.
